Summary:

This document outlines the scope, objectives, and timeframe for the Project Resource responsible for supporting the configuration of UPL Network devices viz. Firewalls, Switches etc. The goal of this project is to ensure the proper configuration and optimization of firewalls, switches etc., as a prerequisite for the SD-WAN project.

Project Goal:

The main objective of this project is to successfully create a change plan of action for the migration of MPLS and internet traffic via a new SD-WAN connection.

Pre-requisites:

1. Access to the existing network infrastructure and relevant documentation.

2. Provide access to location network devices.

3. Clear understanding of the organization's network requirements and goals.

4. Access to network diagrams and IP addressing information.

5. Knowledge of industry best practices for firewall and switch configuration.

Scope of Work:

1.         The scope of this project includes, but is not limited to, the following tasks:

2.         Provide inputs about Firewalls, switches, routing & network related functions inputs to SDWAN service providers for effective planning, designing & implementation of SDWAN project.

3.         Configure network devices such as switches, firewalls, wireless etc.

4.         Coordinate with Airtel to facilitate necessary site wise remote Network Configuration & connectivity support with UPL network devices

5.         Develop a comprehensive plan for migration changes pertaining to UPL Network devices.

6.         Implement all required change activities for successful migration.

7.         Collaborate with the location team to conduct thorough Network, Security & user testing.

8.         Proactively manage and address alerts for sites with scheduled migrations.

9.         Coordinate with OEM to verify dependencies for new deployments.

10.       Coordinate route advertisement of new subnets with location team and service providers.

11.       Firmware/Software upgradation of UPL network devices (if required)

12.       Network Failover testing activities

13.       Attend project-related meetings (daily calls, troubleshooting calls, maintenance calls).

14.       Coordination with Local onsite teams, Airtel team, UPL’s ISP providers & UPL Global IT Team for execution of SDWAN project tasks.

15.       Track open network tasks for the project.

16.       POA & RBP preparation for carrying out configuration changes on UPL network devices & review, walkthrough with UPL team & SD-WAN project team.

17.       Route Optimization plan to simply UPL’s existing inter-ISP, routing design & associated SDWAN routing 

18.       Update relevant network documents pertaining changes performed on UPL network devices (Diagrams, handover documents, Configuration reports, Config Backups, Test reports, Change records, Daily task lists, Meeting minutes etc.).

19.       Create and update an architecture document for each site.

20.       Carry out change management process with the help of UPL network team.
