IP/MPLS Network Design Architect SME
Primary Accountability |
- The purpose of this role is to provide the best Network Design Architecture for customer’s network and to support customer’s Engineering, Planning and Project teams and various stake holders on Network related design including providing guidance on configuration and installation and Deploy.

Key Accountabilities
|
- Identify requirements, prepare HLD/LLD design, document and implement technical solutions for scalable and resilient national network architecture
- Identify potential network risks and issues, and provide effective technical solutions to mitigate these
risks - Develop contingency/fail-over network systems to ensure network performance and customer service
satisfaction at all times - Monitor and communicate progress against milestones, taking proactive remedial action where
necessary Work with the Network Operations NOC, Engineering, Planning and Project teams and various stake holders providing mentoring and know how on the design, solution, and systems in-place. - Ensuring the best customer experience by providing superior level of customer service and Network Design and maximum availability at all times
- Timely and accurate documentation of work performed, to the standard required and using the systems, processes and/or methods specified
- Design and support on Install, upgrade, configure and deploy
- Analyse the trends for discussion with the customer and define actions to address any issues and concerns
- Maintain technical and product knowledge and expertise, through research and self-development to ensure design and support remains efficient, effective and relevant to the business needs of the customer
- Ability to effectively communicate and build relationships with customers
- Provide a concise informative weekly report summarizing the key developments with your account.
- Participate in customer network planning review meetings.

Core Competencies |
- Extensive experience in a network design environment gained in an ISP or telco environment/ Manufacturing and Retail domain
In depth technical knowledge and practical experience of IP MPLS, BGP, OSPF, and/or ISIS routing protocols,L2TP, QoS, peering and transit. (Knowledge of MPLS-TP would be Wishlist) - In-depth experience of network architecture and capacity planning, utilising. Cisco / Juniper Hardware and various models, Protocols and Cisco works, Ethernet, fibre/WDM.
- Conversant in best practice appropriate to network design and security.
- Understanding of hardware and software performance and scaling limitations.
- Experience of NMS platforms
- Network design, implementation and management using various tools and all series routers, switches and load balancers .
- Experience of security platforms, firewalls and/or intrusion detection systems advantageous
- CCIE or Juniper certifications advantageous
- Escalate complex issues with Cisco and to appropriate teams for resolutions
- Implement Project related Network issues, in partnership with NOC/IT Solutions personnel
